Went to America and became a major in the National Guard in New York. Worked for Patton and absolutely loved the army. Eventually returned to Germany.
A radio journalist in Berlin by the name of Esther Slevogt has just written a biography of the German actor Matthias Langhoff, in which Gudrun Kabisch also figures prominently, as she had been a close colleague of Langhoff's and was at the time a very promising young actress in Wiesbaden, where Eva was born.
She was Paul Dessau's first wife. She was the daughter of a general in the German Army and fought in World War I. He wrote a book about the war. Later he became an outspoken anti-Nazi. Her father was a minister. Verdun was a very horrible WWI battle, and Duomont was a very brutal battle in it.
