Note on Wife: Edith Kay SOCHASCHEWSKY - shared note
Gail Casurellag says: Hans and Edith Kleinhorn were always identified as "cousins" of my grandmother, Alice Miller but we didn't know whose child Edith might have been. Well, the answer to the mystery of Hans and Edith was contained in that little book! Edith was the daughter of Alice Muller. Did you guys know that? I didn't. Barbara has a picture of Edith I am sure so if you want to add that little tidbit to the family tree, I can verify it from her book. Hans and Edith had a very interesting early life together. When Hitler came into power they escaped Hamburg and the Holocaust by ship to Shanghai where I understand they lived in one room with 5 other couples for 6 years before being sponsored by Ernest Miller (my great grandfather) to come to the U.S. They settled in Los Angeles. and lived there until they died. I only met them once after they retired and I was with my grandmother. She had not seen them since they first arrived many years before so it was an emotional meeting. They were so warm and friendly. To my knowledge they never had any children. Also, according to the book Edith had a sister named Margot Muller Darvill (?) who settled in England. The book says she was living in 1979 but I am sure she is gone by now.
